Corsa B
Important Workshop Instructions
- Use only the program memory (PROM) allocated to the vehicle. - Protect oxygen sensor from fuel and silicon. Do not clean with or allow contact with petrol. - Do not apply underseal to catalytic converter or oxygen sensor or in their immediate area. - Leaks (dead air) in the intake and exhaust system in front of the catalytic converter cause incorrect oxygen sensor readings. - Leaks in the evaporation control system lead to irregular idle speeds. - The pressure in the fuel system for all engine speed ranges must be approx. 300 kPa. - If injectors are leaky, the engine may run on after the ignition is switched off. - If starting is poor, check the fuel system, fuel pump relay and ignition system. - Before removing electric/electronic components, disconnect ground cable from the battery. - When the battery is disconnected, all trouble codes stored in the memory and learned values for idle speed and mixture correction are deleted. - Cylinder balance test.
To prevent overheating of the catalytic converter, follow the time sequence outlined here for the cylinder balance test:
- Maximum switch-off duration of one cylinder 8 seconds. - Minimum pause between each cylinder switch-off 8 seconds. - When repeating the cylinder balance test, allow engine to run at idle speed for at least 60 seconds (recuperation) This time sequence is pre-programmed into the Opel/Vauxhall tester. - Use "torx" bolts for all bolted connections on the MULTEC-S throttle body.
