F0: ADJUSTMENTS
The nominal engine speed at idle can be altered using TECH 1 and permanently stored in the engine control unit (see also F0: DATA LIST test steps 39 to 44). The nominal idle speed may only be adapted within the limits prescribed by the vehicle certification (General Operating Permit). It should only be altered, however, if the engine vibrates severely at the basic setting and this roughness is eliminated when the engine speed is altered.
