Remove oil pump - see operation "Oil Pump, Remove and Install". Remove oil pump cover (arrows, see illus. I) and safety valve.
 Inspect Check oil pump housing and safety valve for wear.
 Measure Measure distance between gear pairs and upper edge of housing (see illus. II). Permissible play: 0.03 to 0.10 mm.
 Install, Connect Install oil pump cover with adhesive sealing compound (black) - 6 Nm / 4 lbf. ft. Install safety valve with new seal ring - 50 Nm / 37 lbf. ft. Install oil pump with new gasket and new seal ring - 10 Nm / 7 lbf. ft. - see operation "Oil Pump, Remove and Install". | 
Remove, Disconnect
