Intake Manifold Gasket, Replace (C 14 SE)  

Perform all preliminary work as specified in operation "Intake Manifold, Remove and Install (C 14 SE)", but do not unscrew the upper studs of the intake manifold from the cylinder head, but rather:  

Object Number: 616191 Size: DEFAULT  Remove, Disconnect   

Remove fastening nuts (arrows) from intake manifold.  

Object Number: 2385469 Size: DEFAULT

Push intake manifold back on upper stud bolts until lower stud bolts stand free (see illus.). Pull gasket over lower stud bolts and remove.  

Note: because of elongated holes on upper side of intake manifold gasket, removal of intake manifold is not required for its replacement.  

Object Number: 616195 Size: DEFAULT  Clean   

Remove residual gasket and clean sealing surfaces at intake manifold and at cylinder head.  

Object Number: 2386796 Size: DEFAULT

 

 

Object Number: 616192 Size: DEFAULT  Install, Connect   

Push new gasket over lower stud bolts and insert elongated holes into upper stud bolts (see illus.). Fasten intake manifold to cylinder head.  

Object Number: 616199 Size: DEFAULT  Tighten (Torque)   

Intake manifold to cylinder head - 22 Nm / 16 lbf. ft. 1)  

Object Number: 2386797 Size: DEFAULT

Object Number: 616192 Size: DEFAULT  Install, Connect   

Perform all installation and removal work as specified in the operation "Intake Manifold, Remove and Install (C 14 SE)"  

1)  Ensure correct seat of ground connection.
