General Safety Measures and Repair Instructions
Safety Measures:
Never disconnect or connect wiring harness plugs from/ to control units with the ignition switched on.
Disconnect battery from the vehicle electrical system before charging or quick-charging.
Never use a quick-charger for starting.
Caution when touching voltage-bearing parts of the ignition system.
After removal/ installation operations from/ to the engine/ transmission, ensure that the ground connections from the engine/ transmission to the vehicle battery are correctly reconnected. Poor or missing ground connections can lead to destruction of internal parts of the control unit.
Remove control units at temperatures higher than 80 °C/ 176 °F (drying ovens).
Repair Instructions:
After disconnecting the battery, reprogram
· clock · Triple/ Multi Info Display · electronic window winders · radio stations (coding),
if necessary.
