Driver's door closed

Luggage compartment lid / tailgate closed

First turn key 45° to the right in driver's door (lock). Hold key in this position for at least 1 second, then turn key fully to the right (arm anti-theft warning system)

Turn key fully to the right in luggage compartment lock and simultaneously open luggage compartment

Turn key 45° to the left in driver's door (disarm anti-theft warning system)

OPEN   12V

·   Release and disconnect wiring harness plug from tailgate central locking switch S127

OPEN        12V

·   Wiring harness, instrument panel, short circuit to ground in lead

     between:    wiring harness plug K94/Ter. 15

     and:            wiring harness plug X7/Ter. 29

·   Wiring harness, body, short circuit to ground in lead

     between:    wiring harness plug X7/Ter. 29

     and:            wiring harness plug S127/BRWS (brown/white)

·   Control unit K94 defective

·   Connect wiring harness plug at tailgate central locking switch S127/BRWS (brown/white) to ground

CLOSED        0V

·   Wiring harness, instrument panel,

interruption

     between:    wiring harness plug K94/Ter. 15

     and:            wiring harness plug X7/Ter. 29

·   Wiring harness, tailgate, interruption

     between:    wiring harness plug X7/Ter. 29

     and:            wiring harness plug S127/BRWS (brown/white)

·   Control unit K94 defective

·   Using multimeter, measure resistance

     between:    wiring harness plug S127/BR (brown)

     and:            ground

approx. 0 W

·   Wiring harness, tailgate, interruption

     between:    wiring harness plug S127/BR (brown)

     and:            ground

If nominal values are attained:

·   Tailgate central locking switch S127 defective
