Description of System

An Anti-theft Warning System (ATWS) is available for the Corsa-B, Tigra and Astra-F models as optional equipment.

The anti-theft warning system and the immobiliser are armed and disarmed via the driver's door key switch and the central locking control unit.

Alarm is sounded acoustically (horn) and visually (hazard warning lamps). The alarm duration and frequency can be programmed with TECH 1 to correspond to national legislation (programming of country codes, see page 124). The sensors for triggering the alarm are the contact switches, contact loops integrated into the rear and side screens and a ultrasonic-based glass breakage sensor that can be deactivated.

The following events trigger alarm when the anti-theft warning system is armed:

·     Opening a door

·     Opening the luggage compartment lid/tailgate

·     Opening the bonnet

·     Glass breakage in rear screen, monitored by contact loops

·     Glass breakage of fixed rear side screens, monitored by contact loops (Estate only)

·     Breakage of a window, monitored by ultrasonic sensor

·     Removal of radio

·     Manipulation of activation circuit for anti-theft warning system

·     Switching on ignition

When alarm is triggered, the anti-theft warning system control unit stores an alarm code which can be subsequently read out via TECH 1.

The anti-theft warning system has a diagnostic interface for TECH 1, with the following range of functions:

·     F0:DATA LIST

·     F2:TROUBLE CODE (also contains alarm codes)

·     F4:CLEAR CODES

·     F5:ACTUATOR TEST

·     F7:PROGRAMMING
