Function Check > < No Display When Radio Unit SC804CDC is Service Installed

Introduction

These Checking Procedures describe the checking of the

·   Central Door Locking System (CDLS) with Anti-theft Device (ATD) and the

·   Electronically Controlled Window Winders (ECWW),

(technical equipment status MY '93 1/2) with the Opel/Vauxhall Multimeter MKM-587-A and the Electronic-Kit I KM-609.

For MY '94, a new generation of window winders will be introduced. The functional differences to the window winder generation for MY '93 1/2 are listed in section 2.2.

During checks, there may be deviations in the lead colours in individual cases.

We therefore recommend that, for vehicles as of MY '94, the circuit diagrams for the relevant Model Year in the Technical Information Bulletins (TI) be used.

General Instructions

Preconditions for correct functioning of the central door locking system with anti-theft device are:

·   No dampness in plug connections.

·   The servo motors in the front and rear doors must be correctly adjusted (activation of anti-theft device possible for all doors).

·   Ground connections for central door locking system control unit, luggage compartment lid/tailgate servo motor and door wiring harnesses must be checked (measured resistance = approx. 0 W).

·   During tests, the battery must be adequately charged (battery voltage greater than 11.5 volts).

·   Once the battery is reconnected, volatile memories (e.g. electronically controlled window winders, board computer, radio, etc.) must be reprogrammed.

Safety Regulations

·   During operations which involve the risk of an electrical short-circuit, disconnect the ground lead from the battery.

·   During function checks, do not reach into the mechanical parts - risk of injury.
