Screen Wiper Motor, Tailgate, Remove and Install
 Remove, Disconnect For vehicle Models 73, 78, 79, F 35 Fold up wiper arm cover cap (see illus. I). Unbolt wiper arm from tailgate. Remove protective cap and unbolt wiper motor fastening nut. Remove spacer sleeve (see illus. II). |

On vehicles, Model 75 Fold up wiper arm cover cap. Unbolt wiper arm from tailgate. Remove protective cap and unbolt wiper motor fastening nut (see illus. I and II). |

Remove, Disconnect Models 73, 78, 79, F 35 Detach lifter cords of load compartment cover from holders on tailgate and unbolt holders. Lever out plug clips of tailgate panelling using Tool KM-569-A. Remove tailgate panelling. |

Model 75 Unscrew upper part of tailgate panelling and remove. |

Remove, Disconnect Release wiring harness plug from wiper motor and disconnect. Unscrew fastening bolts from wiper motor and ground cable. Remove wiper motor from tailgate. (Illustration shows fastening of wiper motor for Models 73, 78, 79, F 35) |

 Install, Connect Insert wiper motor and screw onto tailgate. Tighten ground cable. |

Install, Connect Connect wiring harness plug for wiper motor. (Illus. I shows wiring harness plug on Models 73, 78, 79, F 35) Slide spacer onto wiper bearing. Tighten hex nut with washer. Attach protective cap. For Models 73, 78, 79, F 35: fasten tailgate panelling with plug clips. Attach lifting cord brackets and attach cords. Model 75: Screw on upper part of tailgate panelling.
 Adjust For Models 73, 78, 79, F 35: align wiper arm. Set parked position at centre of heater filament in rear screen (illus. II). Model 75: align wiper arm parallel to longitudinal axis of vehicle (illus. III).
Install, Connect Tighten wiper arm with hex nut and spring washer - 10 Nm / 7 lbf. ft. |
