Both Actuating Cables - Folding Sun Roof,
Replace
 Remove
| 1. |
Open the folding sun roof slightly
| • |
Open the folding sun roof until the folding roof skin is no
longer tensioned.
|

|
| 2. |
Release rear edge protector (1)
|
| 3. |
Release moulded headlining in rear area and lower
|
| 4. |
Remove rear closure caps (3)
Note: Mark position of
folding roof closure caps
|
|
|
| 5. |
Remove rear left and rear right stops (1)
|
|
| 6. |
Detach cover (1) for folding sun roof motor
|
|
|
| 7. |
Remove servo motor for folding sun roof
| • |
Disconnect wiring harness plug (1)
|
| • |
Unscrew 3 nuts (arrows)
|
|
|
|
|
| 8. |
Remove cover unit
Note: A second mechanic
is required.
| • |
Carefully slide the cover unit, together with the rear sliders
(1) and the front sliders (2) out of the slide rails
Note: When sliding out
ensure that the angle of removal (I) is not more than 10°
|
|
|
|
| 9. |
Remove drive cables (1)
| • |
Remove drive cables out of guide on left and right-hand
sides
|
|
|
Install
| 11. |
Install drive cables
Note: If new drive
cables are being installed, they should be coated lightly with an
acid-free grease
| • |
Insert left and right-hand drive cables into guide
|
|
| 12. |
Install cover unit
Note: A second mechanic
is required.
| • |
Carefully insert cover unit, together with sliders, into the
slide rails
|
|
| 13. |
Install servo motor for folding sun roof
| • |
Connect wiring harness plug
|
|
| 14. |
Install cover for folding sun roof servo motor
| • |
Clip cover into position
|
|
| 15. |
Install rear left and rear right stops
|
| 16. |
Install rear closure caps
| • |
Tighten 2x nuts
Note: Use self-locking
nuts
|
|
| 17. |
Fasten moulded headlining at the rear
|
| 18. |
Attach rear edge protector
| • |
Insert edge protector into guide
|
|
| 19. |
Folding sun roof function check
| • |
Close folding roof, then open fully and close again
|
|
|
