Engine compartment protection package equipment variant

The engine compartment protection package is available as of MY 2004,5.

This is a reduced version of the "bad road" equipment variant with sales designation TY6.

The engine compartment protection package with sales designation "XL4" contains an engine compartment protective plate, front axle spring struts including shock absorbers, and the associated springs.

The engine compartment protective plate is attached to the front axle body from below. The protective plate is intended to protect the components installed in the engine compartment from damage and external influences, particularly the oil drain plug area.

The use of appropriate shock absorbers, spring struts and springs allow the chassis to be tuned more precisely.

The chassis modification also has a positive effect on the ground clearance of the vehicle with the engine compartment protection package.

These modifications provide the driver of the vehicle with a safe and comfortable ride, even if the road conditions are unfavourable.

The following overview shows a list of components that are modified in a vehicle with the engine compartment protection package compared to a basic vehicle.

The only additional part is the engine compartment protection plate. All the other parts in the package replace parts that are already in the vehicle.
