Chassis Alignment

Important:   The following points must be noted before chassis alignment:

  • Use of the specified disc wheels as well as the tyre sizes.
  • Good condition of the disc wheels and the wheel bearings.
  • Tyres uniform and in good condition.
  • Tyre pressure in accordance with regulations at left and right axles - For values, see vehicle Owner's Manual or brochure applicable to the model year "Service Manual" or "Service Plan".
  • No visible damage to chassis (no play in track rods and ball joints, chassis suspension)
  • Regulations and instructions issued by chassis alignment system manufacturer.

The following operations must be performed before chassis alignment:

  • Half fill fuel tank
  • Put vehicle into alignment position
  • Load both front seats with 70 kg respectively
  • Put steering in straight-ahead position
  • Push down on vehicle suspension several times to enable the suspension to adopt its starting position.

  Measure

1.   Measure "Actual values" using computer-aided chassis measuring system, and see "Chassis Adjustment Values" brochure for respective model year for "Nominal Values". User instructions and regulations from computer-aided chassis measuring system manufacturer must be complied with. Print-out of vehicle and chassis data.
Note:   It is not possible to correct camber and toe-in. In case of deviations, check the wheel journal or complete rear axle for possible damage and replace if necessary.
