Brake Line – Rear Left or Right, Remove and
Install (Vehicles with Disc Brakes)
Remove
1. |
Detach seal for plenum chamber as far as necessary.

Raise covering flap for brake master cylinder
|

2. |
Detach closure cap (1) from brake fluid reservoir
|
3. |
Detach rear wheel
• |
Mark position in relation to centre of wheel
|
|
4. |
Unclip ABS wiring harness from brake line and brake hose
(arrows)
|
5. |
Detach rear brake line (3) from rear brake hose
Note: Retaining plate
(2) remains on brake line.

6. |
Detach rear brake line (5) from brake hose on rear axle and
remove
Note: Retaining plate
(4) remains on brake line.

Install
7. |
Lay rear brake line
• |
Attach rear axle brake hose (1) and rear brake hose (3) with
retaining plates (2) and (4)
– |
Tightening torque 16 Nm
|

|
8. |
Clip ABS wiring harness to rear brake line and brake hose
(arrows)
|
9. |
Attach rear wheel
• |
Tightening torque 110 Nm
|
|
10. |
Remove MKM-558-10 (5) from brake
fluid reservoir
|
11. |
Bleed brake system and check for leaks
• |
Attach closure cap to brake fluid reservoir
|
|
12. |
Close covering flap for brake master cylinder
• |
Place seal on plenum chamber
|
