J316400 Oil Filter Housing, Remove and Install (Z 18 XE, with Air Conditioning, LHD)

  Remove

1.   Open bonnet
2.   Disconnect battery
Note:   In vehicles from model year 04 onwards with ESP - the steering angle sensor loses its basic adjustment each time the battery is disconnected and must be recalibrated.
•   Detach ground cable
3.   Remove oil filter housing cover (1)
•   Place collecting basin underneath.
•   Remove filter element (3)
•   Remove seal ring (2)
4.   Remove oil filter housing (5)
•   Remove bolt (4)
Note:   T60
5.   Clean sealing surfaces
•   Oil filter housing, cylinder block
6.   Install oil filter housing
•   Replace seal ring (6)
•   Tighten bolt 45 Nm

  Install

7.   Install oil filter housing cover
•   Replace seal ring
•   Insert filter element
•   Tighten cover 15 Nm
8.   Connect battery
9.   Calibrate steering angle sensor
•   Switch on ignition
•   Rotate the steering wheel one time from its right-hand to its left-hand stop
10.   Check and correct engine oil level
11.   Program volatile memories
12.   Close bonnet
