XEP, Z 14 XEP, with air conditioning, LHD)

Disconnect battery
Note: In vehicles as of
model year 04 onwards with ESP - the steering angle sensor loses
its basic adjustment each time the battery is disconnected, and
must be recalibrated

Remove ribbed V-belt cover
|

|
5. |
Detach alternator wiring harness (1)
|
|
|
6. |
Remove ribbed V-belt
• |
Tension ribbed V-belt tensioner in direction of arrow with
KM-6131 (2)
|
• |
Remove ribbed V-belt tension roller from crankshaft ribbed
V-belt pulley
|
|
|
|
7. |
Remove ribbed V-belt tensioner
Note: Ensure that the
ribbed V-belt tensioner is positioned correctly (arrow pointing
upwards). If this is not guaranteed, the ribbed V-belt tensioner
must be bled. At least 5 strokes must be performed
(tensile/pressure load), whereby the load speed should be constant
and the application of load even. Damage to the tensioning element
must be avoided!

Remove alternator

Undo 2 screw connections (1)
|
• |
Carefully remove alternator downwards
|
|
|
|
Install

Install alternator

Tighten 2 bolted connections 35
Nm
|

Screw on alternator wiring harness
|
15. |
Install ribbed V-belt tensioner
Note: Note installation
position, arrow must point upwards
