Subject: Z13DT Engine - Engine oil level warning lamp flashes
Models: Engines: Option:
Agila 2004,Corsa-C 2004,Corsa-C Combo 2004 Z13DT,Z13DT,Z13DT None
Complaint: The oil level warning indicator flashes even if the oil level shown on dip stick is approximately 10mm above minimum mark.
Cause: Mismatch between oil level sensor measurement and oil dip stick reading.
Production: Agila: Cancellation of oil level indication as of VIN: W0L0HAF684G054359 (20 April 2004). As of MY 05 the oil level sensor will be removed. Corsa-C: Software modification as of MY 2005 in all plants.

Remedy:

In case of customer complaint inform customer that the oil level warning lamp is only an indicator, but the oil level has to be measured/controlled by using the oil dipstick only.
In case of complaint top up oil till maximum mark. Than add 200ml. This procedure ensures the specified oil quantity.

Please note:
When the prescribed quantity of engine oil (3,0 l without oil filter and 3,2 l with oil filter) is filled in, the oil level shown on the oil dipstick is 2,5 mm above the max mark. This is caused by the diagonal engine installation and no failure.

Please note for Corsa-C and Corsa-C Combo:
Another issue is the mismatch between the oil level indicator and the oil dipstick readability.
In order to improve the oil dipstick measurement new oil dipsticks have been been implemented. In case of complaint use this part with partno.: 93177491 / catalogueno.: 06 58 216). Engine-Breakpoint: Z13DT505177.

On Agila the oil level indication will be deleted automatically when programming as of TIS-CD 50 (software version 8). For Corsa-C the modified software is available as of TIS-CD 55. Please inform the customer.
