After installation of the timing chain
repair kit in engines prior engine number 19DN0327 the camshaft
trigger on inlet camshaft is incorrect positioned, DTC P0340 is
set. |
| Cause: |
The repair kit does not contain the correct
pressure piece. |
| Production: |
As of engine number 19DN0327 the crankshaft
and camshaft gears were changed from sintered metal to stamped
sheet metal, furthermore the design was changed. A mixed
installation of sintered and sheet metal parts is not allowed. |
Remedy:
The timing chain repair kit (P/N 93191271 / C/N 66 06 022) can be
used for engines listed above with the following modifications:
- The pressure piece (1, picture I) has to be pressed out of the
original installed camshaft gear of inlet camshaft.
- The installation of the new camshaft gear made of stamped sheet
onto the inlet camshaft has to be carried out by using the
pressed out pressure piece.
Note:
Attend correct installation position of pressure piece
(1, picture II).
The arrow shows the direction of installion towards the
camshaft gear.
The repair kit contains two pieces of tightening screws.
The longer tightening screw M10x60 has to be used only in
combination with the pressure piece.
