Front Fuel Lines, Remove and Install (Diesel
Engines)
Warning: Fuel
escapes – observe safety measures and national
legislation.
 Remove
| 1. |
Disconnect earth lead from battery.
|
| 2. |
Disconnect wiring harness plug (2) for fuel pre-heating at fuel
filter housing lid.
|
| 3. |
Pull fuel filter housing carefully upwards from the crash
box.
|
| 4. |
Disconnect fuel line (1) from fuel filter housing cover with
KM-796-A at quick-release fitting and
seal with KM-6015
|
| 5. |
Detach fuel hose for add-on heater (3) from branch on fuel
hose
Note: Seal branch on
fuel hose with a suitable plug.
|
|
|
| 6. |
Separate front fuel line (1) with KM-796 at quick-release fitting from centre fuel line
(2) and seal both with KM-6015 (3).
|
| 7. |
Remove front axle body
Note: Except for Z 17
DTH and Combo-C with Z 13 DT and Z 13 DTJ engines.

| 8. |
Release clamping bolt (4) for shift guide clamp fitting
Note: Do not remove
|
| 9. |
Push gear shift rod backwards and separate gear shift rod from
shift guide
|
| 10. |
Unclip front fuel line from brackets (arrows) and remove
|
|
|
| 11. |
Remove fuel line to fuel injection pump:
|
| 12. |
Remove fuel hose (1) to fuel injection pump at quick-release
fitting from fuel filter housing lid (2) and seal with KM-6015
|
| 13. |
Remove fuel line to fuel injection pump from fuel hose (3) at
fuel injection pump, disengage from brackets (arrows) and
remove.
|

|
Install
| 14. |
Position front fuel line and clip into brackets (arrows).
|
| 15. |
Install front axle body
Note: Except for Z 17
DTH and Combo-C with Z 13 DT and Z 13 DTJ engines.

| 16. |
Attach front fuel line (1) with quick-release fitting (2)

Remove KM-6015 (3)
Note: Quick-release
fitting must engage perceptibly
|

| 17. |
Push gearshift rod into clamp fitting of shift guide
|
| 18. |
Adjust remote gearshift and tighten clamping bolt (4) 
|
|
|
| 19. |
Remove plug from branch on fuel hose
| • |
Attach fuel hose for add-on heater (3) to branch on fuel
hose
|
|
| 20. |
Attach fuel hose (1) to fuel filter housing cover
Note: Quick-release
fitting must engage perceptibly.

| 21. |
Push fuel filter housing downwards into guide of the crash
box
|
| 22. |
Connect wiring harness plug (2) for fuel pre-heating at fuel
filter housing lid.
|
|
|
| 23. |
Attach fuel line for fuel injection pump to fuel hose on fuel
injection pump and fit in bracket
Note: Use new clamp
|
| 24. |
Remove KM-6015 and attach fuel line
to fuel injection pump with quick-release fitting on fuel filter
housing cover
Note: Quick-release
fitting must engage perceptibly.

Connect battery earth cable.

Program volatile memories
|
| 27. |
Check fuel system for leaks
