Steering Gear boot, Remove and Install

Remove front wheel.

If fitted: Remove engine compartment cover

Release clamp (2) and retaining band (3).

| 4. |
Pull boot (1) from tie rod.
|
|
|
Install
| 5. |
Pull bellows over tie rod and slide onto steering gear
Note: Ensure that the
boot is seated in the grooves of the tie rod (2) and the steering
gear (1)

| 6. |
Attach boot with new retaining band (4) and new clamp (3).

|
|
| 8. |
If fitted: Install lower engine compartment cover.
|
| 9. |
Attach front wheel – tightening torque 10 Nm
|
| 10. |
Check toe-in, adjust if necessary, see brochure "Chassis
Alignment Values" for the respective model year.
