Steering Wheel, Remove and Install
Remove
1. |
Disconnect ground cable of battery
Note: Wait 1 minute for
the capacitor to discharge.
|
2. |
Remove airbag unit
Note: For Tigra-B
(model R97) .
|
3. |
Turn steering to straight-ahead position, take out ignition
key, engage steering lock
|
Important: Do not damage wiring
harnesses!
|
4. |
Disconnect wiring harness plug for horn and radio remote
control (if present)

Unclip wiring harness plug from mounting on steering wheel
|
• |
Separate wiring harness plug
|
|
5. |
Remove steering wheel
• |
Remove steering wheel from steering shaft
|
|
|
|
6. |
Clean thread in steering shaft
|
7. |
Clean thread of steering wheel fastening bolt
|
Install
Important: Carriers on steering
wheel hub (1) must engage in grooves of contact unit (2)!
|
8. |
Fit steering wheel on steering shaft in accordance with marking
(arrow)

Thread wiring harnesses for airbag and signal horn, radio
remote control (if present) through opening in steering wheel
hub
|

|
9. |
Insert steering wheel fastening bolt with locking compound
|
10. |
Connect wiring harness plugs for horn and radio remote control
(if present)
• |
Clip wiring harness plug in mounting
|
• |
Connect wiring harness plug
Note: Ensure wiring
harnesses are laid correctly!
- Steering wheel with radio remote control
- Steering wheel without radio remote control
|

Install airbag
Note: For Tigra-B
(model R97): Install "driver's side" airbag unit .
|
12. |
Connect battery ground cable.
|
13. |
Check function of horn and radio remote control (if
present)
|
14. |
Program volatile memories
|
