Special publication - wiring repairs

The instructions for repairing wiring have been revised and expanded. The following changes have been incorporated into the current revision:

From August 2003 or with the introduction of TIS CD 43, cable repairs will also be available in the TIS under Wiring diagrams.

The path and contents have changed as follows. If the mouse is moved over a wiring harness connector in the wiring diagrams, a window showing the wiring harness connector will open. The following information can be obtained from the illustration:

• Connector coding

The connector coding enables the connector to be precisely identified. This can be used to locate the respective part number in the electronic parts catalogue more quickly. This can then be used to order the connector.

• Special tool

Describes the tool with which the connector can be released.

CAN bus repair

TIS CD 43 onwards will include a description of CAN bus line repairs; thus it will be possible to carry out this sort of repair from publication of the TIS CD 43.
