Transmission Shift Linkage, Adjust (M20/M32)
Remove
1. |
Push the adjuster (1) onto the selector cable and lock
|

|
|
2. |
Lock shift actuation at the transmission
• |
Pull shift actuation upwards (arrow)
|
• |
Attach KM-527-A (1) to shift
actuation
|
|
|
|
3. |
Detach cover of manual shift lever (1)
• |
Unclip manual shift lever cover from centre console
|
• |
Prop up cover of manual shift lever with cover frame
|
|
4. |
Remove gearshift knob
• |
Unclip the reverse gear inhibit connection (2) from the
gearshift knob.
|
• |
Pull off gearshift knob
|
|
|
|
5. |
Lock manual shift lever in adjustment position
• |
Slide reverse gear catch on gearshift lever up and twist
counterclockwise by 90°.
|
• |
Pivot the gearshift lever to the left, and insert the reverse
gear locking piece with catch (1) into the mount (2) on the
left
|
|
|
Install
6. |
Loosen the adjuster on the selector cable
• |
Press the catch (1) toward the back
|
|
|
|
7. |
Unlock manual shift lever
• |
Slide reverse gear catch on gearshift lever up and twist back
clockwise by 90°.
|
• |
Push the reverse gear locking piece downward
|
|
8. |
Install gearshift knob
• |
Push gearshift knob onto gearshift lever as far as it will
go
|
• |
Clip the reverse gear inhibit connection to the gearshift
knob
|
|
|
9. |
Detach KM-527-A (1)
Note: Pull shift
actuation slightly upwards (arrow).

10. |
Check ease of gear shifting
|
11. |
Attach cover of manual shift lever
• |
Clip manual shift lever cover to centre console
|
|
