only split drive shaft RHD side |
Complaint: |
Customer complaint about a metallic noise
between 2.000 and 2.500 RPM (sometimes above 4.000 RPM), coming
from the right hand front side during driving. This noise is coming
from the RH side drive shaft but not from the transmission. |
Cause: |
Insufficient grease. |
Production: |
New grease ( XHP 222 ) has been introduced
in production. |
Remedy:
In case of customer complaint the connection between drive shaft and
transmission shaft has to be greased with special grease XHP 222
(see picture I, arrow).
Note: The field fix special part S-10628 (-Mobile XHP 222-)is no
longer available. The grease -Mobile XHP 222- has to be ordered
via local retailers.
Note: Ensure that enough special grease is applied to the shown area.
This special grease has a damping effect on the drive shaft
hence eliminating the noise.
