Replace tie rod

1.	Remove tie rod end

2.	Detach boot

Remove tie rod (1)

•

Unscrew using KM-6247 (2)

–	Slide KM-6247 (2) onto the tie rod to the stop (arrow)

•	Counterhold with open-ended wrench (3) against flattening on steering gear

4.	Detach seal ring (2) from steering gear (1)

5.	Attach spacer ring (1) to tie rod. Note: Attach spacer ring (1) so that the toothing (arrow) makes contact in the direction of the tie rod joint (2).

Install

6.	Attach new seal ring to steering gear

Recut thread on rack

•	Apply locking compound

Attach tie rod

•	Tighten using KM-6247 to 82.5 Nm

•	Counterhold with open-ended wrench against flattening on steering gear

9.	Install tie rod end

10.	Attach bellows
