Replace trailer hitch
Remove

2. |
Detach wiring harness plug from trailer hitch
• |
Unscrew 3x screws and nuts on wiring harness plug
|
• |
Remove wiring harness plug from holder
|
|
|
|
4. |
Detach trailer hitch at rear
|
|
|
5. |
Detach rear silencer
• |
Remove rear mounting rubber
|
|
|
|
6. |
On vehicles with heat shield: Detach heat shield
• |
Bend heat shield down slightly
|
|
|
|
7. |
Detach trailer hitch at front
• |
Remove 2x retaining plate
|
|
|
|
8. |
Remove trailer hitch towards rear
Note: This requires the
help of a second person!
|
|
Install
|
9. |
Attach wiring harness plug bracket to trailer hitch
• |
Fasten wiring harness plug bracket (2), lock (3), steel washer
(5) and nylon washer (6) with screw (1) and nut (7) to trailer
hitch (4) 1 Nm
|
|
|
10. |
Insert trailer hitch into longitudinal member from rear
Note: This requires the
help of a second person!
|
11. |
Attach trailer hitch at front
• |
Attach 2x retaining plate
|
|
12. |
On vehicles with heat shield: Attach heat shield
• |
Bend back heat shield to starting position
|
|
13. |
Attach rear silencer
• |
Install rear mounting rubber
|
|
14. |
Attach trailer hitch at rear
|
16. |
Attach wiring harness to trailer hitch
• |
Insert wiring harness plug in trailer hitch bracket
|
• |
Tighten 3x screws and nuts
|
• |
Fasten wiring harness with cable ties
Note: Ensure there is
sufficient clearance between wiring harness and exhaust system!

Install rear panelling
|
