Front Panelling, Replace

Removal

Remove radiator grille (as of MY '91).

If present, remove active carbon canister and headlamp wash system reservoir in front wheel well from bracket.

Unscrew front panelling from side member and wing.

1     fastening at side member

2     fastening at wing

(up to MY '90 1 bolt, as of MY '91 2 bolts)

On front panelling with integrated radiator grille unscrew upper fastening (1) of radiator grille.

As of MY '91 remove body-bound rivets (2) on underside of front panelling.

If present, loosen headlamp wash system hose from distributor piece (3).

Remove front panelling in forward direction.

Install

Depending on version:

As of MY '91: Note arrow direction when replacing retaining blocks (1).

Install front panelling and fasten to side members, wings, radiator grille and underside.

Install active carbon canister and headlamp wash system reservoir.

Fasten headlamp wash system hose.

Install radiator grille.
