Electric Front Seat Heating

General

Up to MY '90

The seat heating system is switched on via the seat heating switch in the instrument panel: this is a one-way switch in the case of driver's seat heating and a two-way switch in the case of driver's and passenger seat heating.

As of MY '91

The seat heating switch is in the centre console.

When switched on, the seat heating system radiates warmth until the thermostat switch in the heater mat switches off between 36 °C/97 °F and 42 °C/108 °F. When the ignition is on, the heating system switches on automatically as soon as the temperature is between 27 °C/81 °F and 17 °C/63 °F. The on or off position of the thermostat switch can be checked at the checking connection under the seat.
