Engine Checking and Adjusting Operations
General Repair Instructions
Important
During all operations in the engine compartment: The fan can switch on automatically - risk of injury.
Dispose of according to relevant guidelines: Service materials and used components.
Safety measures - electronic components!
Protect control units from excessive voltages and temperatures (above + 80 °C/176 °F), remove if necessary. Do not disconnect lead connections with the engine running.
Inspect
Correct lead and ground connections and routing of leads. Anti - frost content in cooling system. Cooling system must be tight. Engine oil level and engine temperature.
Tampering with the injection pump can negatively affect the engine. A maladjusted injection pump can no longer be readjusted by a dealer in the field as an injection pump test stand is then required.
