Upper Idle Speed, Check and Adjust

The engine speed is read at the V-belt with the engine at operating temperature using a photo-electric cell type tachometer.

A 1 to 2 cm / 0.4 to 0.8 in. wide piece of aluminium foil should be attached to the front collar of the crankshaft pulley.

Start engine and check cut-off speed with tachometer.

Cut-off speed (max. no load engine speed)

15 D      =   5600 - 5800

15 DT    =   5400 - 5600

To prevent engine damage do not set too high.
