Oil Pump, Remove and Install
Remove oil pan.
See operation "Oil Pan Seal, Replace".
Remove toothed belt.
See operation "Toothed Belt, Replace".
Remove flywheel protective shield.

Unbolt toothed belt drive pulley from crankshaft and remove.
Counterhold flywheel with KM - 517 when doing this.
|
|
|
Remove toothed belt drive pulley.
To do this use KM - 161 - A.
Be careful not to lose retaining spring.
|
|
|
Unbolt toothed belt pulley from oil pump.
To do so hold bolt on housing with socket wrench to prevent
pulley from turning.
|
|
|
Remove oil pump cover.
|
|
|
Pull inner and outer rotors out of cylinder block and
replace.
Apply adequate amount of oil to oil pump on cylinder block
side.
|
|
|
Knock crankshaft seal and oil pump seal out of oil pump
cover.
Clean mating faces.
Fit new O-seal ring with Sealing Compound
15 03 294 (90 001 851) into the groove of the oil
pump.
Apply Sealing Compound
15 03 294 (90 001 851) (see illus. C 7118) to
cover.

Install oil pump cover.
Insert retaining bolts with Sealing Compound
15 03 294 (90 001 851) and tighten.
Prescribed torque: 10 Nm/7 lbf. ft.
After installing oil pump cover check to see whether pump
runs correctly.

|
Coat sealing lip of new oil pump seal ring with engine oil
and fit seal ring into pump holder.
Drive in seal ring with KM - 657.
|
|
|
Coat sealing lip of new crankshaft seal ring with engine oil
and fit seal ring into pump cover.
Drive in seal ring with KM-656.
|
|
|
Install toothed belt pulley on oil pump shaft and tighten
securing nut by hand.
Note installation position.

|
|
Tighten securing nut.
Hold bolt on housing with socket wrench to prevent toothed belt
pulley from turning.
Torque: 50 Nm/37 lbf. ft.
|
|
|
Insert retaining spring in crankshaft journal, push on
toothed belt drivepulley and tighten.
Counterhold flywheel with KM - 517 when doing so.
Torque: 133 - 161 Nm/98 - 119
lbf. ft.
|
|
|
Install oil pan.
See operation "Oil Pan Gasket, Replace".
Screw on flywheel protective shield.
Install toothed belt and tension.
See operation "Toothed Belt, Replace".
