Toothed Belt, Replace
Disconnect battery.
Unbolt vacuum line bracket and alternator connecting cable
from the upper toothed belt covering.
Unbolt upper toothed belt covering.
Position engine to TDC marking (marking on crankshaft
pulley) and insert TDC fixing bolts into camshaft gear and fuel pump drive
gear.
TDC fixing bolts:
M 6 x 30
M 8 x 40

Loosen the toothed belt tension pulley and remove spring.
|
|
|
Unbolt flange from camshaft gear and remove toothed belt.
|
|
|
Loosen alternator at tension bar and at lower bracket and
remove V-belt.
Remove crankshaft pulley.
|
|
|
Unbolt and remove lower toothed belt covering.
|
|
|
Remove and replace toothed belt.
|
|
|
Fit toothed belt.
Install lower toothed belt covering.
Prescribed torque: 10 Nm/7 lbf. ft.
Bolt on crankshaft pulley.
Prescribed torque: 20 Nm/15 lbf. ft.
Fit tension spring (toothed belt is tightened).
Important:
Crankshaft must now be at TDC marking.
First tighten tension pulley retaining bolt (A) and
then nut (B).
Prescribed torque: 19 Nm/14 lbf. ft.

Unscrew TDC fixing bolts.
Turn crankshaft 2 rotations in rotational direction of
engine. Check TDC mark.
Check injection pump setting and adjust if necessary.
See corresponding operation.
Attach flange to camshaft sprocket.
Install upper toothed belt covering.
Prescribed torque: 10 Nm/7 lbf. ft.
Bolt line bracket onto toothed belt covering.
Connect battery.
