Ignition Basic Adjustment and Ignition Timing Adjustment with TDC Sensor gauge

Two contact pins are applied to the crankshaft and a brass sleeve on the engine block.

The sleeve is the mounting point for the TDC sensor. In this arrangement, it is possible to measure engine speed, dwell angle and firing angle (ignition timing adjustment) in conjunction with an ignition tester.

Push TDC sensor in to brass sleeve in engine block up to stop.

Connect ignition tester according to manufacturer's instructions.

Read relevant measurement value from ignition tester.

If necessary, correct basic adjustment by turning the distributor.
