Oil Pump, Remove and Install

Remove toothed belt - see operation "Toothed Belt, Replace".

Remove toothed belt drive gear.

With encased version remove rear toothed belt cover

- see corresponding operation.

Remove oil pan - see operation "Oil Pan Gasket, Replace".

Remove oil intake pipe from oil pump.

Remove oil pressure switch/sensor from oil pump.

C 14 SE and C 16 SE, inductive pulse pick -up bracket must be removed.

Remove oil pump from cylinder block.

Clean sealing surfaces.

Overhaul oil pump - see corresponding operation.

C 14 SE and C 16 SE, attach bracket for inductive pulse pick -up to oil pump.

Then check the reference dimension between the inductive pulse pick - up and the increment disc - see corresponding operation.

Install oil pressure switch/sensor and oil intake pipe with new gasket.

Tightening torques:

oil pump to cylinder block          - 6 Nm/4 lbf. ft.

oil pressure switch/sensor

to oil pump                                  - 30 Nm/22 lbf. ft.

oil intake pipe to oil pump          - 8 Nm/6 lbf. ft.  *

*     Insert bolts with Locking Compound 15 10 177 (90 167 347).

Install oil pan.

With encased version: Mount rear toothed belt cover.

Push toothed belt drive gear onto crankshaft journal.

Note installation position - bead points to crankshaft pulley.

Install toothed belt.
