Safety Valve of Oil Pump, Replace
With C 16 SEI engine remove bracket for inductive
pulse sensor and tie to one side.

Unscrew closure plug and remove spring and piston from
behind plug.
|
|
|
With symptoms such as illuminated or flickering telltale,
due to insufficient oil pressure, check piston of safety valve for clearance
and adhering dirt particles.
Illus. D 1640 shows safety valve arrangement.

Install safety valve, use new copper seal ring.
With C 16 SEI engine install bracket for inductive
pulse sensor.
Important: Check gap measurement between TDC sensor
and segment disc.

Tightening torques:
Closure plug to oil pump - 30 Nm/22 lbf. ft.
Inductive pulse sensor bracket to cylinder block -
45 Nm/33 lbf. ft.
