Rear Toothed Belt Cover, Remove and Install
(Engines without toothed belt tensioner)
Remove toothed belt.
See operation "Toothed Belt, Replace".
Detach camshaft housing cover.
Detach camshaft timing gear.
For this counterhold at camshaft with open-ended spanner.
Detach toothed belt drive pinion.
Detach rear toothed belt cover.
Illus. shows 14 NV engine.
Install
Install rear toothed belt cover.
Tightening torque: 12 Nm/9 lbf. ft.
Push toothed belt drive pinion on to crankshaft journal.
Note installation position - bead points to crankshaft pulley.
Attach camshaft timing gear.
Note installation position - valve timing marking points forward.
When installing camshaft timing gear counterhold at camshaft with open-ended spanner.
Mount camshaft housing cover with new gasket.
Tightening torques:
Camshaft timing gear
to camshaft - 45 Nm/33 lbf. ft.
Camshaft housing cover
to housing - 8 Nm/6 lbf. ft.
Install toothed belt.
