Crankshaft Rear Seal Ring , Replace

Remove thrust bearing guide sleeve.

Remove clutch.

Remove flywheel.

Remove

The oil seal is to pulled out of its seat with tool KM - 469 - A.

Insert Remover Hooks KM - 469 - 5 between the sealing lip and crankshaft bearing journal.

Insert Support KM-469-3 into Lever KM-469- 13-A as shown in the illustration and arrest it with Pin KM - 328 - 8.

Insert the lever and support into the crankshaft bearing journal opposite the remover hooks.

Attach remover hooks in lever slot and pull out seal ring in direction of arrow.

Install

Coat sealing lip of new crankshaft seal ring with Protective Grease, Catalogue No. 19 48 814 (90 001 804).

Press Protective Sleeve KM - 469 - 7 into seal ring.

Place protective sleeve with mounted shaft seal ring on crankshaft bearing journal and press on flush.

Place Pressure Ring KM - 469 - 8 on shaft seal ring.

Insert Retaining Plate KM - 469 - 11 - A with Hex Nut KM - 469 - 12 - A in clutch housing and press shaft seal ring into cylinder block until it has a tight fit.

To do this, insert locating pin - arrows - in mounting holes of thrust bearing guide sleeve.

Install flywheel thrust bearing guide sleeve and clutch.
