Speedometer Helical Gear (Driven) as of Transmission A 356 - 3 - 1 and/or Seal Ring, Replace

These operations are to be carried out on installed transmission housing

Remove

Unbolt speedometer shaft (1) and/or disconnect wiring harness plug for speedometer frequency sensor (2).

Remove bolt for guide piece.

Lever out guide piece from transmission housing.

Install

Insert new O - ring (2) in groove (arrow)

Coat splines of speedometer helical gear with Antifriction Grease 19 41 574 (90 001 812).

Insert guide piece (1) in transmission housing.

Tighten bolt (3) for guide piece (1) in transmission housing - 4 Nm/3 lbf. ft.

Install speedometer shaft and/or connect wiring harness plug for speedometer frequency sensor.
