Rear Screen Wiper Motor, Replace

Remove

Remove wiper arm.

Unbolt hex nut.

Remove wiper arm from cone of motor shaft with remover.

Remove protective cap from motor shaft, unbolt hex nut.

Detach tailgate panelling.

Disconnect wiring harness plug (1) and remove, unbolt ground cable (2), unbolt wiper motor from tailgate (3).

Note rubber buffer.

Install

Install in reverse order.

The wiper arm, when the wiper motor is at rest, should be fastened to the motor shaft so that the wiper arm lies parallel to the rubber mounting.

If the tailgate is replaced, drill the following holes in the new component before painting.

Hole for wiper motor Æ 17 mm/0.67 in.

Hole for nozzle Æ 12 mm/0.47 in.

On inside of tailgate, hole Æ 11 mm/0.43 in. (centre punch mark provided). Use centre bit.
