Bonnet, functional parts - remove and install (to
MY 2000)
 Remove

Disconnect wiring harness plug.
|
|
Screen washer nozzle hose
|
|
Bonnet from hinges - 1 central bolt each (1).
|
|
Raise retaining clip and press gas lifter spring off ball socket
(2).
|
|
Pull bonnet out of guide (3) (second technician).
|
|
Attaching parts.
|
|
|
Install
|
Bonnet.
|
|
Attaching parts:
|
|
Screw in rubber buffer (4) – adjust height,
|
|
cement rubber damper.
|
|
|
|
Adjust gap to reference dimensions:
|
|
All dimensions in mm with tolerance ± 1 mm.
|

Open rivet ends with pliers (4).

Lock striker pin

 Adjust
|
Adjustment dimension (X) = 40 mm – 45 mm measured from
bonnet panel to screen. Lock washer nut. Tightening torque 22 Nm /
16 lbf. ft.
