Luggage Compartment Lid Hinges

 

Both luggage compartment lid hinges operate according to the scissors principle.

They are bolted at the side, outside the luggage compartment on the rear quarter panels. Each luggage compartment lid hinge is bolted to the luggage compartment lid with two nuts and to the rear quarter panel with three bolts. The luggage compartment lid hinges are held in the open position by gas pressure lifters.

 

The lift force of each gas pressure lifter is 370 ± 30 N.

The clearance gaps are adjusted at the slotted holes in the hinges, by adjustment of the lock and by pressing the hinge bows. The height of the luggage compartment lid on the hinges can be adjusted via adjustment screws bolted onto the hinges.

Specifications for these gaps are listed in the Service Instructions, group A.
