Remove and install front seat – see operation "Front Seat, Remove and Install" in group "C".

Access through bore which has to be made in vehicle underbody from outside. Use centre punching marks (1 up to 4) on vehicle underbody.

Drill Ø 34 mm bore, deburr edge and remove swarf, apply corrosion protection.

Drill spot weld in front of the spacer plate.

Centrepunch spot weld (5). Rebore with Ø 8 mm drill bit.

Open cage. Bend open cage downwards with punch.

Replace clamping nuts from outside.

Open cage so that the nut can be removed with long-nosed pliers. Remove nut.

  Install

Insert nut and engage with bolt from above.

Take protective measures against flying sparks and fire hazard when welding. Bend cage together and close bored-open welding spot by welding from above, at the same time counterhold with narrow aligner from below.

Grind spot weld flat. Seal spot weld and bore with corrosion protection.

Seal bore with closure cap. Front seat.
