Survey of System

The memory system is a combination of the electrically adjustable driver's seat and the electrically adjustable outside and inside mirrors.

Three individual driver's seat and mirror positions can be stored via the personal keys in the control unit and can be called up as required.

The outside mirrors for the driver/co-driver are adjusted via the mirror adjustment switches which are located in the driver's door handle. The inside mirror is adjusted manually. Each outside and inside mirror is equipped with two motors and potentiometers for vertical and horizontal mirror adjustment. When the memory function is called up, the mirror faces move to the stored positions.

The driver's seat is adjusted by four motors. Three motors are located in the seat console and a fourth is in the backrest. Each motor has a potentiometer which reports the current seat position to the control unit. The control unit stores all data, such as end stops, position data and data for the anti-submarining device.

If one of the personal switches is pressed, the control unit compares the nominal/actual values and actuates the relevant servo motors until the pre-programmed seat and mirror positions are attained.

The switches for the seat adjustment and the keys for the memory system are installed in the driver's seat side panelling.

Control unit and overall system standby is controlled via the door contact switches for the driver's door and via Ter. 15, ignition ON/OFF.

The system can be checked and, if necessary, reprogrammed with TECH 1 via a data lead which is connected to diagnostic plug XD.
