Note:

The memory key (designation "M" on key) is the first key from the front of the seat.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Notes on Trouble-shooting:

Nominal Value:

Cause of fault:

(If nominal value is not attained)

 

·   Check whether memory key jams mechanically

 

not pressed

 

·   Memory key or seat panelling mechanically faulty

 

 

·   Ignition OFF, disconnect battery negative terminal

·   Remove driver's seat

·   Release 9-pin plug "S40" and disconnect from control unit K103

 

 

 

 

·   Using multimeter, measure resistance at 9-pin plug between Ter. 2 (black) and Ter. 1 (colourless)

     Memory key not pressed:

 

higher than 200 kW

 

·   Memory key S40.3 defective (switch contact does not open)

·   Lead short circuit between 9-pin plug and S40.3

 

 

     Memory key pressed:

lower than 2 W

·   S40.3 defective (switch contact does not close)

·   Lead interruption between 9-pin plug and S40.3

 

 

·   Using multimeter, measure resistance in 9-pin plug from Ter. 1 (colourless) and Ter. 2 (black) to ground (seat console)

 

higher than 200 kW

·   Short circuit to ground in lead between S40.3 and 9-pin plug Ter. 1 (colourless) or Ter. 2 (black)

 

 

Further possible faults:

 

·   Control unit K103 defective
