Remedies for Mechanical Faults

 

The following repair operations for fault elimination must be performed as specified in the Omega-B Service Instructions, group C (front seats).

Fasten driver's seat to vehicle floor with 4 new bolts.

Remove driver's seat and bolt firmly to seat console.

Remove panelling from driver's seat. Check seat adjustment switch and seat panelling for material damage. Replace defective parts. Fasten switch in such a manner that all switch functions can be performed without jamming when panelling is installed.

Remove driver's seat. Clean lower and upper seat console rails and regrease. Before installing seat, check that upper and lower rails can slide smoothly.

Remove driver's seat. Check drive mechanism for dirt, jammed foreign bodies and material faults. Replace defective parts. Check that motor is firmly seated and check function of transfer pipe. If drive mechanism is okay, replace motor.

Remove driver's seat. Disassemble seat console and re-assemble as specified in Omega-B Service Instructions, group C. Always make sure that the upper and lower rails are flush on top of one another.

Carry out F7:PROGRAMMING with TECH 1 according to table 7

Remove driver's seat. Check motor, flexible cable, gears and fastening parts in backrest for firm seating and material faults. Replace defective parts. Check function of drive mechanism and check for easy movement. If drive mechanism is okay, replace motor.

Remove driver's seat. Check assembly of motor, flexible cable and gears in backrest, and also assembly of backrest with panelling and upholstery as described in Service Instructions, group C.

Move seat position forwards or backwards with emergency crank until relevant driver's seat fastening bolts are accessible and can be loosened.

Remove panelling with rocker switches and keys (switch unit S40) from driver's seat and check for material damage. Replace defective parts. Check that switch unit S40 is correctly fastened and fasten in such a manner that all rocker switch and key functions can be performed without jamming

After removing mirror corner panel, bolt outside mirror firmly to door

Fasten mirror motor in mirror casing

Replace mirror cover

Unclip mirror face. Check brackets for material damage. If necessary, replace mirror face and clip onto mirror motor

Replace mirror cover

Remove handle from driver's door. Check mirror adjustment switch and handle for material damage. Replace defective parts. Insert mirror adjustment switch in handle recess and press in firmly until fastening clips engage

Replace inside mirror
