Table 7, F7:PROGRAMMING

 

When a new control unit is installed in a vehicle or a control unit from one vehicle is installed in another vehicle, the control unit must be reprogrammed (programming of the end stops for the seat motors and the values for the anti-submarining device - seat squab inclined forwards).

Important:

Before starting programming, always remove the open cover from the fuse box (connection plug for TECH 1 is located here), as otherwise it will be damaged when the seat moves forwards during programming.

 

Route TECH 1 lead in such a fashion that it cannot become jammed between the transmission tunnel and the driver's seat when the seat moves forward.

 

 

Ignition ON

Close all doors except driver's door

 

 

 

Safety Measures:

The mechanic must position himself beside the driver's seat, outside the vehicle.He must never sit on the driver's seat or any other seat in the vehicle interior during programming. Likewise, no other occupants are allowed in the vehicle interior during programming.

 

Important - risk of injury:

During programming, the motor end stops are not checked.

The programming procedure can be aborted at any time by pressing the TECH 1 EXIT key or releasing the memory key "M".

 

 

Press key F7 in the system main menu. Follow the instructions in the TECH 1 display.

Open driver's door

Do not press any of the manual adjustment keys for the seat and the mirrors

The memory key and the three personal keys must not be pressed

 

 

Once the display on the right has been answered with YES, press the memory key and hold it down until the programming process is completed. If the memory key is released during programming, the programming process may be aborted as incomplete and incorrect end stops may be programmed.

Note:

During programming, the individual seat motors are moved consecutively to their end stops and the relevant potentiometer values are stored in the control unit.

 

 

If the display on the right appears after the programming is completed, programming was successful.

 

Otherwise a fault has occurred during programming. Carry out the following measures consecutively:

·   Read out trouble codes

·   Carry out quick check F0:DATA LIST

·   Carry out quick check F5:ACTUATOR TEST

·   Repeat programming

·   Carry out TECH 1 self-test

·   Check TECH 1 lead for damaged insulation and shielding

·   Repeat programming with new control unit

 

PROGRAMMING SEAT END POSITIONS
