  Remove

Remove footwell panelling. Remove heating and ventilation duct. Detach retaining clamp (3). Press pin (4) out of brake servo fork. Detach wiring harness plug (1) from brake light switch (2).

Remove brake light switch – see operation "Brake Light Switch, Remove and Install or Replace".

Unscrew upper fastening bolt (1) from pedal support.

Remove fastening nuts (1). Pull brake servo forwards slightly. Swing pedal support to the rear and remove.

  Disassemble

Remove retaining spring (3). Remove fastening nut (4) from pedal axis. Remove washer (5). Carefully drive out pedal axis (7) from pedal support (2) using drift. Remove brake pedal (8) with brake pedal spring (6) from pedal support.

  Inspect

Check all parts for wear.

  Assemble

Install brake pedal (7) and brake pedal spring (5) in pedal support (1). Coat pedal axle (6) with lubricating grease and press in pedal support (1).

  Install

Attach fastening nut (3) to pedal axle (6) with washer (4) – tightening torque 18 Nm / 13.5 lbf. ft. Secure with retaining spring (2).

Attach brake light switch (2). Connect wiring harness plug (1) to brake light switch. Push in bolt (4) and clip in retaining clamp (3).

Caution

Do not press actuating pin into brake light switch or a standard adjustment will be required – see operation "Brake Light Switch, Remove and Install or Replace".

  Install

Install heating and ventilation duct with fastening bolt (bottom arrow). Push footwell panelling into guide (1) and fasten with clips (arrows).
