Radiator fan motor M4

-   25 DT

 

 

Check function of motor M4:

·   Disconnect wiring harness plug from motor M4.

·   Connect motor M4 externally to battery positive terminal and ground.

·   If M4 does not operate, M4 is defective.

 

Motor M4 starts operating

 

 

Possible cause of fault, trouble - shooting - if fan motor M4 is not defective:

 

1.    Actuation and operation of radiator fan motor M4: see accompanying function table. This table can be used to simulate actuation of M4. For this, remove the relevant wiring harness plug from each switch and replace the break contact or make contact with bridges.

2.    Fuse F42 defective.

3.    Lead interruption between M4 / lead BR and ground.

4.    Lead interruption between M4 / lead RTSW and radiator fan relay K52 / Ter. (5).

5.    Lead interruption between M4 / lead RTSW and radiator fan relay K96 / Ter. (8).

6.    Radiator fan relay K96 defective (see K96).

7.    Radiator fan relay K52 defective (see K52).

8.    Radiator fan motor M11 defective (see M11).

9.    Coolant temperature switch S128 defective (see S128).

10.  High pressure compressor switch (fan) S20.3 defective (see S20.3).
