Radiator fan motor M11

-   all except 25 DT

 

 

Check function of motor 11:

·   Disconnect wiring harness plug from motor M11.

·   Remove left front fog lamp - (V6 only).

·   Connect motor M11 externally to battery positive terminal and ground.

·   If M11 does not operate, M11 is defective.

 

Motor M11 starts operating

 

 

Possible cause of fault, trouble - shooting - if fan motor M11 is not defective:

 

1.    Actuation and operation of radiator fan motor M11: see accompanying function table. This table can be used to simulate actuation of M11. For this, remove the relevant wiring harness plug from each switch and replace the break contact or make contact with bridges.

2.    Fuse F52 defective.

3.    Lead interruption between M11 / lead RTWS and radiator fan relay K87 / Ter. (8).

4.    Lead interruption between M11 / lead RTWS and radiator fan relay K26 / Ter. (8).

5.    Lead interruption between M11 / lead BRGN and radiator fan relay K52 / Ter. (2)

6.    Radiator fan relay K87 defective (see K87).

7.    Radiator fan relay K52 defective (see K52).

8.    Radiator fan relay K26 defective (see K26).

9.    Radiator fan motor M4 defective (see M4).

10.  Coolant temperature switch S29 defective (see S29) - 20 SE, X 20 SE, X 20 XEV only.

11.  Coolant temperature switch S88 defective (see S88) - X 25 XE, X 30 XE only.

12.  Coolant temperature switch S128 defective (see S128).

13.  High pressure compressor switch (fan) S20.3 defective (see S20.3).
