Exhaust Manifold, Remove and Install
|
 Remove
Remove air cleaner housing – see operation "Air Cleaner
Housing, Remove and Install (25 DT)" or "Air Cleaner Housing,
Remove and Install (X 25 DT)".
Unclip fuel lines from holder.
Disconnect coolant hose (1) from coolant pipe, seal openings.
Collect coolant.
Detach engine vent hose (2) from cylinder head cover.
Disconnect air intake hose (3) from turbocharger.
Remove charge air pipe – see operation "Charge Air Pipe,
Remove and Install".
Detach exhaust gas recirculation metal pipe from exhaust
manifold.
Remove three turbocharger fastening bolts (5) from exhaust
manifold (4).
Remove exhaust manifold fastening nuts (12 off) from outside
inwards and carefully remove exhaust manifold. Do not damage
attaching parts.

Caution
Seal turbocharger openings – ensure that no foreign bodies
enter the turbocharger.
 Clean
Remove gasket remnants and clean sealing surfaces.
Install
Place new seals (1) onto the threaded studs with the shackles
facing outwards.
Attach exhaust manifold to cylinder head with new fastening nuts
– tightening torque 24 Nm / 17.5 lbf. ft. Tighten fastening
bolts from inside outwards.
Attach turbocharger with new gasket to exhaust manifold –
tightening torque 45 Nm / 33 lbf. ft.

Install
Attach exhaust gas recirculation metal pipe to exhaust manifold
– tightening torque 22 Nm / 16 lbf. ft.
Install charge air pipe – see operation "Charge Air Pipe,
Remove and Install".
Attach air intake hose to turbocharger – tightening torque
3.5 Nm / 2.6 lbf. ft.
Attach engine vent hose to cylinder head cover.
Attach coolant hose to coolant pipe.
Clip fuel lines to holder.
Install air cleaner housing – see operation "Air Cleaner
Housing, Remove and Install (25 DT)" and "Air Cleaner Housing,
Remove and Install (X 25 DT)".
Inspect
Top up and bleed cooling system – see operation "Cooling
System, Top up and Bleed" and "Cooling System, Check for
Leaks".
