Injector Nozzle, Check

Test conditions: injector nozzle removed and connected to nozzle tester.

  Inspect

Jet shape:

Pressure gauge closed! If the tester lever is actuated quickly, the injection jet must emerge cleanly in the shape of a narrow cone – without dispersion – finely atomised.

Caution

Do not allow the injection jet to touch any part of the body – injury hazard!

  Inspect

Leaks:

Open pressure gauge and depress lever of tester until gauge displays 100 bar overpressure. The injector nozzle is leak free if no drops emerge within 10 seconds.

  Inspect

Opening pressure:

Before starting, actuate tester several times with the gauge closed to rinse the injection nozzle. To check, open gauge, press down hand lever slowly, until injection nozzle sprays. Read off pressure from gauge. If the value read off does not correspond to the prescribed opening pressure of 15000 to 15800 kPa (150 to 158 bar), the injection nozzle must be replaced.
